Back in the 1950’s this was once a chic hideaway of just 15 rooms accessible only by private plane or yacht. It was a much-loved exclusive retreat frequented by the elite rich and famous including many a Hollywood movie star and American President. Over the years, and following various refurbishments, One&Only Palmilla has evolved into a 172 room luxury resort, yet still preserves the glamorous flavour and ambiance of the original resort. Nowadays, it offers outstanding leisure facilities and its very own championship golf course.

The design of the hotel replicates that of a Grand Hacienda with its white washed walls and red-tiled roof tops, and, the grounds of the property are surrounded by tropical gardens and swaying palm trees. All of the 172 rooms and suites have been elegantly appointed with contemporary amenities enjoying views out to the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. There are 12 room categories in total and all feature the services of a Butler, 24-hours a day. There are a number of ‘casas’ set within the gardens with no building rising higher than three stories ensuring privacy is a priority for all its guests.

The resort’s location is idyllic, enjoying the only swimmer-friendly beach in the Baja Peninsula, a mountainous and desert terrain and the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean all within touching distance. For the outdoor enthusiasts there is the championship golf course, deep-sea fishing, whale watching and 4 x 4 trips into the desert. Within the hotel grounds you can opt to relax by the infinity-edged pool, enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the adult-only Vista pool with its complimentary foot massages, or slope off to the beach for those sun-drenched moments. Dining at One&Only Palmilla is a culinary discovery to be savoured, where you can sample anything from a Mexican Empanada to Michelin starred gourmet dishes at The Market restaurant. There are five restaurants within the resort offering a delightful balance of cuisine from around the World.

Children are very well catered for with a superb Kids Only children’s club that runs throughout the week. There are also nanny services available and a dedicated outdoor pool just for families.
