Turkey is a spectacular country where fantastic archaeological sites mingle with the natural beauty of pine-clad hillsides and long wide beaches. With luxury Turkey holidays there are a whole host of cities and resorts to visit. Istanbul is buzzing, and atmospheric with a mix of ancient and modern, where in the same day you can be fascinated by the Blue Mosque or the harem of Topkapi Palace, then shop for the latest designer wear in Cehavir Mall, the largest mall in Europe. Istanbul is a great destination, but beware; it’s a busy, vibrant city, and you’ll need a few days of relaxation before heading home.

Turkey enjoys sunny days and a warm year round Mediterranean climate. The summer months enjoy particularly hot temperatures whilst the winter months are much milder.

I have visited Turkey several times, visiting family in Altinkum and holidaying in the beautiful resort of Olu Deniz. Here it is very chilled and relaxed with one road that leads to the seafront where you can sit and watch the paragliders going over the beach. There is an excellent beach bar called Buzz Bar where we watched the sunset whilst having a beautiful meal. During our visit, we also did the Salikent Gorge trip which was brilliant.

I have been to Turkey a few times, including a stay at Turunc which we loved. Here there are lots of fabulous restaurants and the locals are extremely friendly. I'd recommend a boat trip from Turunc to nearby resorts, and we went to Marmaris which is definitely worth a visit to experience the local markets and produce. I have also visited Gocek, which is a lovely traditional village with a fabulous marina.

I have mainly stayed in the resort town of Icmeler on my family holidays where you can enjoy lots of nice restaurants with a great choice of cuisine and of course, its long stretch of beach. I have also visited Olu Deniz which I found to be much more of a busier and livelier resort.
