Discover Victoria

Australia’s second-largest state, Victoria is also one of the country’s most diverse regions, with its attractions ranging from spectacular beaches and quaint seaside towns, to the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne – the state capital, and Australia’s unofficial cultural capital. Melbourne is a fantastic place to visit, offering numerous galleries, live music venues, markets and fine dining establishments to keep you occupied.

Beyond the city, highlights include the Great Ocean Road, which stretches for nearly 250km along the coast, taking in incredible scenery along the way; the winelands of Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula; the pristine Wilderness Coast of Gippsland; and the misty mountain peaks and countless Aboriginal rock art sites of the Grampians National Park.

Yarra Valley

With a mix of fine food, excellent wines and pristine nature, and just an easy day trip from Melbourne, the region is considered one of Australia’s premium wine-producing areas, where you can enjoy taking a tasting tour of its historical estates.

Hot air ballooning over the valley’s stunning plains is a must, visit the Healesville Sanctuary to experience some local wildlife or walk up the 1000 steps to the Kokoda Memorial for delightful forest views.

You can also take in the Dandenongs - a range of low mountains where hiking trails lead through forests and fern glades - less than an hour from the Yarra Valley.

Phillip Island

Phillip Island offers visitors the chance to see incredible Australian wildlife amongst spectacular landscapes. The Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm and Nobbies Centre are just a few of the island's unique attractions.

Follow the Southern Gippsland Wine Trail and experience Phillip Island’s excellent cool-climate wines and fresh organic produce.

You can also head to the island’s well-known motor circuit and go-kart track by day for some high-speed chasing, or seek something a little calmer and visit the Cuckoo Clock Farm.
