Use the drop-down menu below to explore New South Wales.

New South Wales (NSW) lies in south-eastern Australia and is home to the world-renowned city of Sydney, with its glamorous harbour, museums, galleries and restaurants. View Sydney's iconic Opera House and relax (or surf) the popular golden beaches (including Bondi Beach).

Away from Sydney, take in the sights of New South Wales’ Blue Mountain National Park, where you can also rock climb, mountain bike, hike and abseil.  You can also take in Australia's highest peak, situated within The Snowy Mountains (Mount Kosciuszko).

Explore Byron Bay, with it's rainforests, volcanic mountains and spectacular beaches. It is also Australia's most easterly point, featuring the iconic Cape Byron lighthouse.

Visit some of Hunter Valley's wineries, and sample the excellent wine of the region. You can also take in the spectacular scenery in one of the areas hot air balloons.

Stretching from the Hawkesbury River just north of Sydney to the northern border town of Tweed Heads which is considered the gateway to Queensland's world-famous Gold Coast, the New South Wales North Coast extends over 700 kilometres in length.

With scenic coastal views, beautiful lakes and seaside towns and cities to explore, this remarkable coastline offers visitors a variety of beautiful attractions and activities. Visitors can look forward to sea kayaking in the clear, turquoise waters, learning about local history at an array of historic sites, surfing the magnificent waves at uncrowded beaches and spotting an abundance of wildlife.

Other highlights include parasailing, whale and dolphin spotting, quad biking over undulating dunes and golfing on championship courses. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a cruise on the sparkling Pacific Ocean.

Fringed by the glistening South Pacific Ocean, the New South Wales Coast stretches along the southeastern coast of Australia from Sydney to Victoria.

This coastal strip encompasses several unspoilt national parks, sparkling lagoons, lush forests and pristine beaches. There is a comprehensive collection of attractions and activities for visitors to look forward to. Visit such as visiting the famous Kiama Blowhole, exploring the Minnamurra Rainforest at Jamberoo, enjoying spectacular whale watching opportunities and snorkel or scuba dive with fur seals at Montague Island Nature Reserve.

Other highlights include the Grand Pacific Drive between Wollongong to Sydney to soak up spectacularly scenic views, camping under the stars, or deep-sea fishing.

The New South Wales Coast is a subtropical climate region of Australia with 4 distinct seasons that feature hot summers and cool winters. The eastern areas are more temperate while the central coast has more humid weather. The south coast is slightly cooler due to the proximity to the ocean.

The north west of the NSW Coast is the hottest region and the seasons less obvious, with hot and wetter summers and cooler, drier winters.
