Discover British Columbia

British Columbia is one of Canada’s most recognised provinces.  Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, B.C. is the country's most western province. The diverse geography of the province ensures that B.C. is popular with adventure travellers.  From Whistler, the home of winter sports to the quaint horse-drawn carriage pace of life in the Capital Victoria, B.C. really does offer something for everyone.

B.C. is also home to the vibrant city of Vancouver, one of the starting points of the World famous ‘Rocky Mountaineer’, allowing visitors to visit the Canadian Rockies whilst relaxing onboard this iconic train.  Alternatively, visit the Okanagan Valley wine region and sample ‘New World’ wines as well as enjoying a fabulous lunch.  Whale Watching is also available in British Columbia from the Inside Passage.

Vancouver

Located on Canada’s southwestern border, the city of Vancouver boasts majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage year-round. A vast multicultural population, endless activities, and excellent infrastructure ensure Vancouver is welcoming to all. While the city has excellent public transportation, it is a great walking city - easily accessible, clean, green and safe.

Vancouver caters to almost any interest throughout the year; visitors can enjoy world-class shopping, gourmet meals, outstanding live entertainment, sporting events, theatre, outdoor adventure, a huge array of watersports, and spectacular sights and attractions.

The city is also known for its easy access to Whistler, the Canadian Rockies, Victoria, and Vancouver Island. Don’t miss the opportunity to traverse the thrilling, famous Capilano Suspension Bridge and its activities, including palpitation-inducing cliff walks and historical tribal sites.

Vancouver Island

Located just off Canada’s Pacific Coast in the British Columbia Province, Vancouver Island is home to stunning natural scenery and a wealth of cultural wonders. The wave-whipped beaches and verdant forests of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve provide the ultimate opportunities for surfing and hiking, and the chance to see cougars and other endangered animals. Turquoise natural pools are surrounded by gigantic peaks and lush greenery, constituting picturesque locations for swimming, kayaking and other watersports.

Small, friendly communities rich in cultural history are scattered across the island and enjoy engaging with visitors about their ancient legends. In the capital, Victoria, impressive heritage architecture, a variety of fascinating museums, and plenty of modern galleries, restaurants, and shops complete the package.

Victoria

Situated on the southern end of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, the charming town of Victoria serves as the provincial capital. It is known for its numerous outdoor activities, heritage architecture, and its colourful gardens. The surrounds feature ancient rainforests, majestic mountains and a wild Pacific coastline.

Visitors can look forward to partaking in the tradition of afternoon tea, discovering the city’s world-class culinary delights, and enjoy a variety of adventure options with everything from kayaking to whale-watching. Other attractions include: the stately Craigdarroch Castle, a historic Victorian-era Scottish Baronial mansion; Butchart Garden, with its immaculately kept grounds; and the extensive network cycle paths, Victoria has more cycle routes than any other Canadian city.

Whistler

Located only a couple of hours from Vancouver in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia is Whistler. Over 200 trails spread between two peaks, Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains and are linked by the famous Peak2Peak gondola.

Boasting a mix of chalet-style apartments, lodges, inns and condo’s with pedestrian-friendly streets, the whole resort is as beautiful as it is practical and is also heaps of fun!

The skiing and snowboarding are world-class and are well suited to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. If you’re more suited for the après-ski, you can relax and enjoy the mountain bars, that offer a superb array of nightlife once you’ve hung up your skis and boots for the day. Top of the range restaurants and numerous bars are also open serving nibbles and champagne from the moment the lifts close until dinner time..

Going into the night, Whistler is host to a fantastic variety of clubs and bars for those who fancy a spot of dancing. Anyone craving a cocktail at happy hour can enjoy plenty of comfortable lounges, once the sun dips beneath the mountains.
