San Francisco
The Golden Gate Bridge in central California is the gateway into the fast-moving city of San Francisco. Here you can visit Alcatraz and Silicon Valley before heading out to the rolling hillsides of the California Wine Country. World-renowned Napa Valley is an ideal place to stop and sample the fine wine and good food of this land, rich in agriculture and vineyards. Death Valley can also be found in this part of California and is the largest National Park in the U.S. covering an incredible 5000 square miles. It’s somewhere you can explore extinct volcanic craters and the soaring sand dunes of the hot desert. Further adventure can also be enjoyed at Palm Springs where an aerial tram ride can take you on a journey high above the desert heat in search of cooler temperatures.

Weather
California’s climate is quite often compared to that of the Mediterranean, due to its warm, dry summers, and mild, wet winters. On the coast, average yearly temperatures range between the low 40s°F (4.4°C) and in the high 70s°F (21.1°C) and 80s°F (26.7°C). Inland, summers are generally hot and dry, and at higher altitudes the weather is more typical of a four seasons, cycle with cold, snowy winters making this popular for skiers. San Francisco is famous for its fog, especially in the summer, whilst Los Angeles is known for its year round, consistently sunny, desert-like, coastal climate.
