Discover Saskatchewan

Landlocked between Alberta and Manitoba is Saskatchewan, also known as the Central Prairie Province. The area is best known for fishing, hunting, and outdoor adventures.  Saskatchewan is also home to the historic university campus of the University of Saskatchewan which is located in Saskatoon and is believed to be one of the most beautiful campus buildings in Canada.

The Capital of Saskatchewan is Regina, where a busy cultural centre can be found with theatres, music, and dance, all supported by the fine arts constituency at the University of Regina.

The capital of Saskatchewan offers a great base from which to explore the province’s southern prairies, but it’s worth lingering here a while to enjoy the city’s leafy parks, its up-and-coming Warehouse District (pop into the Bushwakker Brewpub while you’re at it), Wascana Lake (for a stroll or jog with plenty of wild geese for company) and Cathedral Village.

Regina is home to the Canadian Mounties so try to catch their noon parade on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. The Saskatchewan Science Centre and Royal Saskatchewan Museum are also worth a visit, and for an easy day trip, enjoy the historic prairie town of Moose Jaw, where tales of Al Capone’s bootlegging operations abound.
