Discover The Western Cape
Arguably the most scenic and varied of South Africa's nine provinces, the Western Cape serves as a major attraction for visitors to South Africa. Located in the southwest corner of the country, the province is blessed with stunning coastlines, breathtaking mountains, indigenous forests, historic wine estates and scorched stretches of strikingly beautiful semi-desert.
Visitors can enjoy everything from the magnificent city of Cape Town with its iconic Table Mountain and gorgeous surrounding Winelands, to the exhilarating outdoor activities and spectacular natural scenery of the Garden Route. The Western Cape has just about everything that the rest of the country can offer, all rolled into one easy explorable destination.
Cape Town
South Africa’s ‘Mother City’ is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that is home to the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain and beautiful beaches, among many other attractions. Here you can take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain, visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, enjoy the beaches of Camps Bay or discover a local Towship.
The Winelands
The wine-growing areas of Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington, Franschhoek, Ceres, Worcester, Bonnievale and Robertson are popular attractions, where a Mediterranean climate favours the production of superb wines.
It goes without saying a visit to one of the many wineries is a must and the hop-on-hop-off wine tram enables you to both discover the beauty of the Franschhoek Valley experiencing the different activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or just a stroll through the vineyards. The province is also renowned for its superb cuisine, where many restaurants serve fresh fish sold from the boats in Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay.
Discover The Garden Route
This lush 200-kilometre stretch of coastal plain between Mossel Bay and Storms River Mouth provides one of the world’s most spectacular drives. Visitors typically base themselves at the heart of the Garden Route - either in Knysna, complete with its scenic lagoon; or neighbouring Plettenberg Bay, famous for its excellent beaches, and spend a few days exploring countless surrounding attractions.

×Weather
The Western Cape experiences the opposite in climate to the rest of South Africa with its summer months November - February and its winter season, late June to mid-September. Cape Town’s weather can vary greatly any day of the year, so these norms should be used only as a guideline.
