Ras Al Khaimah, meaning the “top of the tent” in Arabic is located in the northernmost part of the UAE and is just a 45 minute drive from Dubai International Airport. With its varied landscapes, Ras Al Khaimah is a picture perfect destination, renowned for its pristine natural attractions and breath-taking desert greenery.
The Landscape
In the west of Ras al Khaimah are the waters of the Arabian Gulf and 64 kilometres of sandy coastline, while to the East there are spectacular mountain ranges formed by part of Hajar Mountains more than 70 million years ago and incorporating Jebel Jais, which at 1,930m is the highest peak in the whole of the UAE.

Ras al Khaimah is a must for those looking for the real essence of Arabia and offers a deeper sense of escapism and relaxation. It has a rich heritage dating back 5,000 years, which manifests in numerous historical sites, forts, and abandoned villages including the former pearling village of Al Jazirat Al Hamra. Alternatively visit the small fishing village of Al Rams, where Suwaidi Pearl Farm provides an insight into the Emirati tradition of pearl farming and gives the opportunity to go on a pearl divers boat and explore the mangroves.
For those looking for adventure, the World's longest zipline can be found at Jebal Jais which offers nearly three kilometres of adrenaline-filled fun, travelling at speeds of up to 160kmph.

Ras Al-Khaimah is approximately a 45 minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Emirates offer daily direct flights from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow. In addition British Airways and Virgin offer direct flights from London Heathrow.
