Use the drop-down menu below to explore Alpe d'Huez.
Alpe d’Huez now boasts the fifth largest ski area in France with 250km of slopes encompassing the outlying villages of Auris, Villard Reculas, Oz en Oisans and Vaujany.
Few resorts in the Alps match Alpe d’Huez for its suitability for skiers and snowboarders at both ends of the skills graph. The resorts slopes dip to 1,100m and soar to a heady 3,330m, while its glacier and 900 snow cannons ensures snow cover is sufficient for a long season that stretches from early December to late April.
The Pic Blanc summit at 3,330m provides breathtaking views across the whole of the Southern Alps and is a fantastic starting point for the Sarenne descent which is one of the longest black runs in the world (a total of 16km from top to bottom!). Alpe d'Huez is also ideal for snowboarders, providing two well-maintained snow parks and plenty of boarder friendly cable cars and chair lifts.
Away from the slopes there is a wealth of other activities to enjoy in Alpe d’Huez, including ice driving, climbing, (there’s an indoor climbing wall), swimming (heated outdoor and indoor swimming pools), skating (open-air ice-rink), dog sledding, aerial activities such as paragliding, heli and plane flights, and snowshoeing. There is also a good variety of places to dine and bars to frequent during the evenings.
