Why We're Mad About Barbados

Posted in Barbados by Emma Bosworth on 1st Aug 2023

I have been visiting Barbados for many years, first as a teenager with my family and more recently with children of my own so it's fair to say that I have experienced Barbados from many perspectives! What I love about Barbados is stepping off the plane and immediately feeling like I have arrived home. Here are some of my personal 'must-do's when visiting Barbados.

Luxury Catamaran Cruise

I had a fabulous day out on Silver Moon, a luxury Catamaran that takes a maximum of only 12 guests (children are allowed). We enjoyed free-flowing rum punch and a Bajan buffet, sunbathed on deck and swam with the turtles, being thoroughly looked after throughout. A perfect day!

Discover Barbados via Mini Moke

A visit to the East Coast of Barbados is a must when visiting Barbados and what better way to explore the island, than by hiring an open-top mini moke! Taking a few wrong turns along the way is half the fun but when you arrive at the East Coast the views are undoubtedly worth it!

Animal Flower Cave

When exploring Barbados, the Animal Flower Cave is a great stop-off where you can delve inside the caves and take some fabulous Instagram photos. If you fancy it you can take a dip in one of the natural pools. Not recommended for people with walking difficulties.

Just Chillin'

Barbados is the perfect place to chill out and do nothing! Whether it's relaxing by the pool (as I did here at the luxury Sugar Hill Resort) or down by the beach. Wherever you choose to relax, you can be assured you'll only be met with friendly Bajan charm.

First Class Dining

In Barbados, you're spoilt for choice with a superb array of dining options on the West Coast. Whilst some restaurants have sadly closed their doors, new ones are also emerging. Former Head Chef of The Cliff is now at The Beach House in Holetown and Juma's (serving the best catch of the day!) has a new home next door to the Lone Star.
