MICHELIN STAR – Ocean at Vila Vita Parc Hotel – Porches (near Albufeira)
Ocean is one of only two restaurants in Portugal to hold two Michelin stars and can be found at the stunning Vila Vita Parc Resort. Here you can enjoy elegant dishes rooted in the region, attentive service and knowledgeable wine pairing – it’s an absolute treat.
AMAZING FISH – Gigi’s – Quinta do Lago
This simple beachfront restaurant is a firm favourite with our Managing Director and is located on a stunning stretch of beach with staggering views of the Ria Formosa National Park. During the summer months the jet-set flock here to sample the freshest fish and shellfish including giant red prawns cooked on a charcoal grill.
SOPHISTICATED PORTUGUESE TAPAS – Paixa Restaurant – Vale do Lobo
This is not your typical Tapas bar. Here you’ll experience a contemporary setting where you can enjoy anything from maize porridge to an oxtail croquette. The staff are attentive and there’s a huge selection of wines by the glass to enhance your dining experience.
MOUNTAIN DINING – Luar da Foia – Monchique
Head to the hills of Monchique and indulge in hearty regional dishes of wild boar, rabbit and sweet potato chips. This is where you’ll find the locals relaxing with good food and superb views across the valley.
BEACHSIDE – Rei das Praias – Ferragudo (near Portimao)
Popular with the locals, this beachside taverna delivers fabulous sea views, a warm friendly service as well as mouth-watering fresh fish and an excellent wine choice. Our Marketing Manager ate here for a friends 40th celebration and recommends everyone should try it.
