Use the drop-down menu below to explore Corsica.
Corsica was acquired by France back in 1768 and is an impressive island of natural beauty in the Mediterranean. Located 160 km from the French mainland and only 82km from Italy’s Tuscan coast, the island boasts stunning pink cliffs, turquoise clear waters and over 200 sandy beaches including intimate hidden coves and magnificent bays. Corsica is the perfect location for outdoor adventure and is popular with those who love to walk, cycle or simply soak up the sun. Discover picturesque hillside villages and rugged landscapes, explore spectacular valleys, rivers and pine forests and see why Corsica is known as ‘The Island of Beauty’.
Lying 4 km off the southeast coast of Corsica, the Lavezzi Archipelago is a group of small granite islands and also well worth a visit. Here you can enjoy some of the best diving on the island with its stunning reefs. From Corsica's historical capital Ajaccio to the smaller villages of La Balagne, Corsica remains an unspoiled hidden gem that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.
July is the hottest month in Corsica with an average temperature of 22°C (72°F) and the coldest is January at 8°C (46°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 12 in July. The wettest month is November with an average of 96mm of rain.
There are a number of chartered and low-cost airlines that fly to both Ajaccio and Bastia in Corsica throughout the week during the summer season.
