July is the hottest month in Ireland with an average temperature of 15.5°C (60°F) and the coldest is January at 5°C (41°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 6.3 in May. The wettest month is August with an average of 80mm of rain. The best month to swim in the sea is in August when the average sea temperature is 14.9°C (59°F).
